Web Site Support ServiceHit CounterYou can add a hit counter to your website home page or article by using the [HitCounter:] tag.Inserting [HitCounter:] into the text box of an article will display the number of hits since the date that the article was created. You can custom the hit counter so it displays alternative text (for example [HitCounter:You are visitor number $Count since $Date]). If you are logged in as moderator, you also get the option to reset the counter by using the 'Reset hit counter' button (resets the counter back to zero). If you do not include a reference to $Count in the hit counter text then the text will be ignored and the default hit counter text will be displayed instead. You are visitor number 471 since 05th May 2010 You can optionally provide a 2nd parameter to the HitCounter tag to control who gets to see the hit counter. Allowable values for the 2nd parameter are:
If set to Moderator, only logged in users with Moderator permissions will get to see the hit counter. If set to User then anybody that is logged in will get to see the hit counter. In either case, the hit counter will not be displayed to users who are not logged in. If you do not want to specify the hit counter text, but want to control who views it, just leave the first argument blank: [HitCounter:,Moderator]. An example of the hit counter is as follows:
The hit counter can be left-aligned by asking a member of the e-Learning Team to add the following code to the CSS: div.SB2_HitCounter |
